Our Trip to Tiny Town - 7/10/10

We took Harrison to Tiny Town yesterday afternoon and had perfect weather right up to the minute we were ready to leave. Just as we headed for the car, it started to pour! Tiny Town is a 95-year-old attraction filled with mini buildings for kids to explore.
They have a nice, shady picnic area at Tiny Town, so we started the afternoon with a picnic which Harrison enjoyed.
Harrison checked out the adobe jail...
...and peered at us from behind the bars (I also included a video below of Harrison exploring this building).
Some of the buildings only have access from the back...
...but Harrison tried the front door anyway!
Resting on the front steps of an old Victorian-style building.
And before we left, we all took a ride around the town on this train. Harrison liked that a lot!

Here is Harrison checking out the tiny jail.

A Reading and Shopping Kind of Morning - 7/5/10

Harrison loves two of his books named "The Hat" and "The Mitten" ...he recognizes them and asks for them by name. This is one of them, but I can't tell which one. His other favorite book is "Elmer"...he says that over and over and over and wants to read "Elmer" all the time.
Here is Harrison taking his pal 'Fuzzy' on a shopping trip.

Moving into My New Room!!! - 7/3/10

Harrison has a new bedroom with a new bed! He has been excited about it for awhile and he finally moved in this weekend and tonight is his first night in his new bed! He had NO issue at all with sleeping in his new environment. He climbed right into his bed, laid down and was asleep within a few minutes. I think we wore him out in the heat at the Arts Festival! He looks so tiny sleeping in a twin bed.

Lunch on the go - 7/3/10

We went to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival today and Harrison enjoyed his lunch in the shade. He was really funny about eating it though. He would not touch any of it until he was sitting on the 'bench' just like we were.

Story time - 7/1/10

Harrison collected all of these books on one side of this chair and then crawled up into the chair and proceeded to 'read' them one by one, moving each to the other side when he was finished. You can see his progression from the top picture to the bottom one.

Happy Father's Day!! 6/20/10

I helped Daddy open his gifts for Father's Day (this is the hat I made for him at school) and then we went to the zoo!
We saw lots of animals, like zebras, elephants, monkeys, sea lions, and giraffes...
I had fun pointing all of them out...
and posing for pictures.
Daddy also took me on a train ride at the zoo. That was fun!!

Entertaining myself - 6/19/10

Harrison did a great job entertaining himself over the weekend while we were trying to hang a mirror in the front room. He stayed right next to the gate and played with the toys in this box, but mostly enjoyed getting in and on top of the box! We never did get the mirror up...there seems to be a lot of metal inside the wall that we could not get away from! So now we have a lot of holes in the wall and the mirror is still on the floor. Harrison did not add to the frustration though, so that was great!

Checking out the Farmer's Market - 5/29/10

Trying out my 'new' rocking chair! 5/28/10

Grandpa brought me the little rocking chair that he used when he was little and that my mom used when she was little. It is very old, but has been rebuilt, reupholstered, and is better than new! He brought one for my new brother too that my Grandpa's brother used when he was little. I love to climb in and out of my chair and put my stuffed puppy in the seat and rock him back and forth. Thanks Grandpa!

Sunday Activities 5/23/10

Come on guys! I'm ready to go outside for a stroll through the park.

Now that I'm back from my trip to the park, I think I'll spend some time reading this afternoon.

More Fun than Toys.... 5/8/10

Harrison had more fun with the Kleenex boxes we brought home from the store than any of his other toys. He especially loved using them as a chair! It might be time to buy him his own little chair based on his new practice of turning anything he can can into a chair.

Fun with My Truck! 5/2/10

Harrison had lots of fun with his truck today! At one point I looked over and noticed he had decided to use it as a chair...he figured this out all by himself and managed to get himself in there without it rolling away (he's watching Kevin work in the back yard). He also had lots of fun putting various items in the back of the truck and pushing them around.
