Today is Kevin's 40th birthday, but we celebrated a few days ago since he is working today.

"I've Got Four Important Teeth to Brush!" 9/28/11

I helped Declan brush his teeth for the first time last night..and he was a pro! He opened his mouth right up and let me brush his teeth and then he grabbed the toothbrush and kept on brushing for a long time! He even cried when I finally took the toothbrush away.

Declan's First Haircut!! - 9/23/11

 We took Declan for his first haircut (really more of a trim) on Friday at LolliLocks in Boulder. He got to sit in the very same car that Harrison sat in for his first haircut. At first, he just seemed a bit confused, like he was trying to figure out what was going on...

 ...still mellow after the stylist put on his cape

 ...spritzing his hair with water started the tears

 ...and the tears continued all the way to the end, but he sat so still and let her cut his hair

 ..it was shocking! He cried and cried, but never tried to move or get away.

"Here I am after my haircut...and I'm still not happy about it! Let's go home."

Breakfast with Daddy - 9/22/11

Little Baker - 9/20/11

 Harrison was in the kitchen again the other day helping out with some cookies. He loves to run and get his apron and help with any kind of baking. We made whole wheat biscuits too, and he loved getting his hands in the flour and rolling out the dough!

 This job came with intense supervision, but he did great and listened very well!

Breakfast With My Bunny - 9/19/11

Declan is starting to get very attached to a few of his stuffed animals. This one is a bunny and he has a teddy bear named 'Buddy' that he loves a lot, also! He drags them around the house and up the stairs with him all the time...very cute!

On a side note, Harrison has suddenly started naming his 'friends' too...we now have 'Mac' the puppy and 'Seahorse' the dog. I have no idea where he got those names...he came up with them all by himself!

Sibling rivalry has begun!

Day Out With Thomas - 9/10/11

We spent a 'Day Out with Thomas' yesterday at the Colorado Railroad Museum! We got to take a ride on an old train pulled by Thomas the Tank, we saw Sir Topham Hatt, and we played on lots of old trains and locomotives. It was lots of fun!

 We're here! Ready to go inside the museum and enjoy the day.

 Harrison got to climb inside this locomotive and ring the bell!

 Here is Thomas in action...we saw him giving some passengers a ride around the museum before our departure time had arrived.

 Harrison also got to play on these old train 'carts'.

 Time to check our tickets...Harrison handled that like a pro!

 Next, it was time to play on the old train cars at the museum! 

 Then, we saw Sir Topham Hatt!!

 We didn't wait in the long line for pictures with Sir Topham Hatt, but Harrison was very interested. He made a break for it under the ropes when we weren't looking!

 Next stop...the temporary tattoo tent!

 Then, the train tables...

 ...these were a HUGE hit!

It was a long day filled with fun and activities. Harrison had to check out his 'goodie bag' the second we got inside the door! He did a little scavenger hunt at the Thomas event and wanted see his prize again...probably to make sure it wasn't lost yet!!

Going Shopping - 9/9/11

Here is a video of Declan doing a good job walking behind his shopping cart...until he gets hung up on a toy car. Notice how he grins proudly at the camera as if to say, "Look at me, do you see what I can do?".
