Declan's 2-year Well Visit - 8/29/12

 Declan went to the doctor today for his 2-year well visit! 

He was 34 1/2 inches long (50th percentile).

 And, he weighed 28 1/2 pounds (60th percentile).

He cooperated very well with the nurse and the doctor and even waited patiently in between! He was also able to get the FluMist vaccine this year, so he is all set for flu season. The doctor said he was very healthy and doing great!! As for his lack of words, Dr. Bucknam thought he would probably start talking in the next few months.

Mother Nature provided Declan with a gorgeous day for us to celebrate his 2nd birthday outside.

We celebrated at the Mordecai Children's Garden inside the Denver Botanic Gardens with family and friends and had a fabulous day!!

 There were Mickey Mouse birthday cupcakes...

...and balloons and lots of food.

 Once, Declan noticed the cupcakes, he couldn't wait until after lunch to eat one, so he had his right away!

 We had a private, shaded area for our party.

 Harrison, Declan, and Finn had a great time playing in the 'mountain stream'!

 Splashing was definitely in order!

Going for A Wagon Ride - 8/24/12

 

Nana took Harrison and Declan on a wagon ride around our neighborhood, which was a really big hit!!

First Day of Preschool!!! 8/23/12

 Harrison went to his first day of preschool today!! His teacher's name is Miss Allison and he met lot of new friends. When I asked him what his favorite part was, he said, "everything"!

 Harrison found his cubby and stored his back pack for the day. He was very eager to get on with the day. He said they read a book about an aardvark that couldn't follow rules, sang songs, played outside, and had bear-shaped cookies!

 After school, we all went to Chik-fil-a for a special 'first-day-of-school' lunch.

 And, then to Lamar's for an extra-special treat!

 Nana was here to share in all the special moments of the day...

...and, Declan was happy to partake in the all the festivities of the day, as well.
