"I'm too Old for that High Chair!" - 5/27/12

At lunch today, Declan absolutely refused to sit in his high chair. I tried several times and he won the battle. So, I got him to eat his spinach and feta pizza sitting on my lap, but then he got Harrison's booster seat down and decided he needed to eat his apple in that chair. He definitely has a mind of his own!

Boulder Creek Festival - 5/26/12

Finn and his parents invited us to join them yesterday morning at the Boulder Creek Festival (an annual Memorial Day Weekend event). I hadn't been in about 13 years, so we tagged along and had a great time!

There was free leather 'designing' for the kids...

...and they each got to make a leather tag imprinted with their name that turned into a necklace.

Harrison and Declan took a ride on the barrel train...seems like we see this train everywhere we go!

They loved it and even managed to get along sharing one car.

This looks like a very serious discussion.

Finn took a ride in a giant bubble! It was really neat. After Harrison saw Finn rolling around inside the bubble, he wanted to try it, but the line was too long to wait again. Maybe next time!

Declan was a very patient waiter...he had his balloon to keep him company.

This is Finn's mom, Kris, keeping an eye on Declan....it was really nice to have some extra help!

This one was an obstacle course and they made it all the way through to the end...just not as quickly as the operator probably would have liked!

Me and My New Love - 5/24/12

Declan saw this nectarine in the fruit bowl and just had to have it..... and, he loved it! He ate it all the way done to the seed.

A New Look - 5/23/12

I gave Declan his first home haircut today! He did a fabulous job sitting still and was a very good sport.

Here is his new 'little boy' look. You should have seen all the hair on the floor!

Harrison got a much-needed trim, too.

Very Stylish! 5/21/12

Declan was obsessed with wearing Harrison's rain boots on Monday!!! He would not take them off. He wore them to Pearl Street in Boulder to play, he wore them to nap, he wore them to play at home, he wore them before agreeing to finally put his pajamas on, and he wore them to bed! I had to sneak into his room twice before I finally got them off after he went to sleep.

Here he is after I got his clothes off, but before he would let me remove the boots to put on his pajamas.

This was the first time I tried to get the boots off of him after he went to bed. He just sat up and grinned at me!

Happy in dreamland...

Following Directions - 5/15/12

I always tell Harrison and Declan to sit down while brushing their teeth, so they don't run around and fall with a toothbrush in their mouths. It gets ignored a lot of time, but yesterday they both followed directions like little angels (at least regarding the toothbrushing)!!

A Big Imagination - 5/7/12

Harrison took a rain boot, a few Lego figures and a big imagination and came up with all sorts of fun adventures and stories yesterday morning. It was very fun to watch him....I caught a little bit on the video below:

Puzzle Pals - 5/6/12

After a chasing episode around the house over who was going to play with the dinosaur puzzles, I convinced Harrison to let Declan help him with the puzzles and show him how to put them together. They did a great job working together and it was so cute!

Daily Trip to the 'Store' - 5/6/12

Every morning (it seems anyway), Declan loves to 'explore' the pantry. He stacks the cans and pulls out whatever he can reach that looks interesting to him and lines it up on the floor. Lots of fun!
